Overview

The Tahuli Reverse Waterfall Rappelling Expedition is one of Maharashtra’s most challenging and rewarding monsoon adventures. Located in the rugged Matheran Mountain Range near Kushwali Village, this expedition features an incredible 600-foot reverse waterfall rappelling experience, making it one of the longest and most technically demanding rappelling destinations in the Sahyadris.

Unlike conventional waterfall rappelling, Tahuli offers the unique experience of descending alongside a powerful reverse-flowing waterfall created by strong monsoon winds. This natural phenomenon, combined with towering cliffs and dense forests, creates an unforgettable adventure for experienced trekkers seeking a true adrenaline rush.

The expedition begins with an overnight journey to Kushwali Village, where participants rest before beginning the early morning trek. After tea, breakfast, and a detailed technical briefing, the group starts trekking through dense forests, rocky terrain, and steep mountain trails toward the rappelling site.

Upon reaching the waterfall, participants prepare for the expedition’s main highlight—a thrilling 600-foot technical rappelling descent. Using internationally certified climbing ropes, harnesses, helmets, descenders, and other safety equipment, each participant descends the vertical rock face under the continuous supervision of experienced technical instructors.

Due to its height, exposure, and technical nature, Tahuli Reverse Waterfall Rappelling is recommended only for participants who have prior experience on moderate to difficult treks or adventure activities. Every stage of the expedition follows strict safety procedures, ensuring participants can confidently enjoy one of Maharashtra’s most iconic adventure experiences.

After completing the rappelling activity, participants trek back to the base village to enjoy a hot local meal before beginning the return journey. The combination of dense jungle trails, towering cliffs, spectacular monsoon scenery, and world-class technical adventure makes Tahuli one of the most sought-after rappelling expeditions in the Western Ghats.

10 PM Pickup From Kalyan/Pune (Saturday Night)
Night stay at Kushvali village
Members who are coming to Direct Base Village should arrive at 4am
5 AM Tea and Breakfast
5.30 AM Trek start
8 AM will reach near Waterfall
8.30 AM start rappelling one by one
2 PM all the members will rappel down and start for the trek to the base village*
5 PM Reach base Village And Enjoy Hot Meal
6 PM Return journey Start

Smoking Cigarette, Chewing Tobacco/Gutkha And Consuming Alcohol Is Strictly Prohibited During The Trek.
Do not throw plastic and other dirt in jungle/fort /anywhere during trek , Keep in your bag.
